H.M.S. Star was one of forty "C" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a three-funneled "30 knotter".
Service
She was one of twenty-seven T.B.Ds. of the Portsmouth Flotilla to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1909.[7]
She, Flirt and Hecla of the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla were paid off on 30 April 1912 and re-commissioned the following day.[8]
In mid-1913, she was operating with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla — a patrol flotilla.[9]
By May 1919, Star was among 33 obsolete ships awaiting sale.[10]
