H.M.S. Roebuck was one of forty "C" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".

Service

In late 1905, she was one of eight destroyers in the Second Division of the Channel Fleet's Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

In August, 1912, she was removed from the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla and attached to the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.[9]

In mid-1913, she was under the orders of the Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth and remained engaged in the intruction of cadets at Dartmouth.[10]
