Harold Larpent Woodcock

Commander Harold Larpent Woodcock, C.B.E., R.N. (1 November, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Allahabad, the son of H. F. Woodcock, a retired Colonel of the Bengal Army.

Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1904.

Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1912.

From 29 May 1914 to 1 March 1915, he was appointed in temporary command of No. 4 Airship and as Squadron Commander of Farnborough Naval Air Station.

From 1 March to 13 August 1915, he was appointed in command of No. 7 Airship.

Promoted to the rank of Wing Commander on 29 February, 1916.

Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1916.

He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 31 December, 1922.

World War II

Following service in South Africa as Deputy Superintendent, Durban, Woodcock reverted to the Retired List on 1 January 1944.
