Harold Larpent Woodcock
Commander Harold Larpent Woodcock, C.B.E., R.N. (1 November, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Allahabad, the son of H. F. Woodcock, a retired Colonel of the Bengal Army.[1]
Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1904.[2]
Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1912.[3]
From 29 May 1914 to 1 March 1915, he was appointed in temporary command of No. 4 Airship and as Squadron Commander of Farnborough Naval Air Station.[4]
From 1 March to 13 August 1915, he was appointed in command of No. 7 Airship.[5]
Promoted to the rank of Wing Commander on 29 February, 1916.[6]
Woodcock was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1916.[7]
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 31 December, 1922.[8]
World War II
Following service in South Africa as Deputy Superintendent, Durban, Woodcock reverted to the Retired List on 1 January 1944.[9]
