The four Italian Flotilla Leaders of the Aquila class were being built as the Vifor class for Romania when the Great War started. Italy took them into service as they were completed, with three seeing service before the war ended.
Two were delivered to Romania in 1920 and saw service in the Black Sea, and the other two were transferred to Spain in 1937 (1939?).
