Lieutenant Charles McCrea, R.N. (6 September, 1860 – 11 January, 1896) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

McCrea was discharged the service on 25 October, 1880 on the grounds that he had phthisis. The C Branch reported that he was not eligible for a pension in 1883, but permitted him to be re-instated if he were fit and his mother desired it. He was found fit on 15 June 1883 and was restored to the list on the 18th. He went to Excellent to complete the exam for the rank of Lieutenant with his original seniority.

McCrea was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1884. He was appointed in command of Skipjack on 16 January, 1894 and died in her command of phthisis on 11 January, 1896.
