H.M.S. Galatea was one of four Arethusa Class light cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Commissioned at Devonport on 3 September, 1935.[5] She went to work in the Mediterranean, bearing Rear-Admiral (D) Commanding Destroyer Flotillas of the Mediterranean Fleet J. F. Somerville.[6]
