H.M.S. Fantome was one of six Fantome Class composite screw sloops completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Re-commissioned at Bermuda on 25 April, 1883.[5]
She was temporarily loaned to the Australian Navy during the Great War.

- Lieutenant in Command George P. M. FitzGerald, 27 November, 1914[7] (while ship on loan to the Australians)
