Jump to navigationJump to searchGraham Richard Leicester Edwards ( – ) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
As a Commander, Edwards was to obtain considerable command experience in destroyers.
On 1 August, 1912, he was appointed in command of the Wolverine of the Third Destroyer Flotilla.[1]
On 23 January 1914, Edwards was appointed in command of the destroyer Laforey, also operating with the Third Destroyer Flotilla out of Chatham.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1917.
On 16 December, 1918, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Birkenhead.[3] On 19 April 1919, he was made Captain of the light cruiser Canterbury.[4]
