Commander (retired)Cradock William Calmady John Nowell (12 February, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Nowell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1906.[1]
Nowell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1914.[2]
Evaluated as "lazy", but probably owing to health (neurasthenia) in 1917. In August 1917, Template:UK-COmmonwealth was grounded, which resulted in a Court of Inquiry which determined that Nowell must be to blame for not sounding often enough.[3]
He received unflattering evaluations in 1926. He was palced on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 31 January, 1937.[4]
