H.M.S. Arethusa was one of four Arethusa Class light cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Chatham with a sepecial complement on 21 May, 1935 before completing to full complement on 12 June.[5] She became the flagship of the Third Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean.

On D-Day, she was part of Force D, taking part in the bombardment of shore targets.
