H.M.S. Maidstone was completed to navy order as a depot ship. She assumed the name of an earlier Maidstone launched in 1912.
Service
In 1939, Maidstone was assigned to the First Submarine Flotilla. In 1941, she went to the Mediterranean. In 1944, she ventured to Australia, supporting operations of the Eighth Submarine Flotilla.
