Admiral SIR Herbert Goodenough King-Hall, K.C.B., C.V.O., D.S.O., LL.D., R.N. (15 March, 1862 – 20 October, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
For services rendered during the operations in Egypt, King-Hall was specially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 18 November, 1882.[1]
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1895.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1900.[3]
He was appointed command of the King Alfred on 22 December, 1903.[4]
King-Hall was appointed Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence on 31 March, 1905.[5]
On the occasion of the King's birthday he was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 28 June, 1907.[6]

King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 22 June, 1909, vice Tillard.[7]
King-Hall was appointed Commander-in-Chief on the Cape of Good Hope Station on 28 December, 1912, and assumed command on 22 January, 1913.[8]
Great War
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 5 March, 1915, vice Jellicoe.[9]
On 1 January, 1916, he was appointed an Additional Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[10]
King-Hall was promoted to the rank of Admiral, vice Brock, on 25 August, 1918.[11]
Post-War
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 May, 1922.[12]
