Captain (retired) Frederick Charles Alfred Crooke, (10 February, 1853 – 31 December, 1938) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Crooke entered the navy as a Navigating Midshipman.
He absolved of blame in the grounding of the corvette Canada in Malanzas Bay, Cuba on 15 July, 1887.[1]
He was promoted to the rank of Staff Captain on 13 August, 1903. He was appointed in command of the twin-screw survey ship Seahorse on 18 February, 1904 and assumed command of 25 February. In December 1905, he was apparently thanked for rendering prompt assistance in the event of a collision with a steam hopper[?].[2]
Crooke was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 10 February, 1913.[3]
