Commander R.N.R. (retired) Kenneth Boothroyd, R.D. (28 April, 1878 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Born in Southport, Lancashire.
Boothroyd was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 February, 1910.[1]
Boothroyd was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Kinfauns Castle from the outbreak of war until being appointed to the armed yacht Marcella on 28 July, 1915. She was lost to a collision in The Downs in March 1916. On 28 June 1916, he was appointed to H.M.S. Sim[illeg].[2]
Boothroyd was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 February, 1918.[3]
He was demobilised on 15 February 1919 and granted a temporary commission on the General Army List for duty with the Inland Water Transport of Mesopotamia.[4]
Boothroyd was placed on the Retired List under the provisions of Article 132(i) at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 28 April, 1923.[5]
