H.M.S. Fame (1896)
Pendant Number: D.41 (Sep 1915)
D.37 (Jan 1918)[1]
Builder: John I. Thornycroft & Company[2]
Ordered: 1894-95[3]
Laid down: 4 Jul, 1895[4]
Launched: 15 Apr, 1896[5]
Commissioned: Jun, 1897[6]
Broken up: 1921[7]

H.M.S. Fame was one of the Royal Navy's eleven "D" class destroyers.

Service

In July, 1904, complaints from Vice-Admiral Noel of the China Station about the condition of his T.B.s and T.B.D.s prompted a review of his assets by First Lord of the Admiralty Selborne. Within, it was noted that Fame was tender to Humber, her boilers had been re-tubed in 1902, and she'd been docked in May 1904.[8]

In mid-1913, she was serving in China.[9]
