Commander Arthur Edward Francis Lovell, (10 October, 1901 – 8 June, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

In 1921, it was noted that Lovell was good at sketching, and was "quiet, has not shown up much." I'd think I may be related, except this man "play[ed] cricket moderately."[1]

Lovell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1923.[2]

In 1930, Captain A. Cunningham noted that Lovell was "perhaps too kindly & lenient; v. tactful : pleasant".[3]
