H.M.S. Lizard was one of twenty-nine destroyers of the Acheron class.

Radio

She was one of 18 Acheron class destroyers fitted with W/T in 1912, becoming one of 123 destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[7]

Service

In mid-1913, Lizard was with the First Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

She fought at the Battle of Jutland as part of the First Destroyer Flotilla,[9] which was tasked with screening the Fifth Battle Squadron.

On 5 November 1916, Lizard collided with Garland. Lizard's commander, Norman Albert Gustave Ohlenschlager was cautioned to be more careful in future.[10]

In January, 1918, she and Tigress fought unsuccessfully at the Battle of Imbros to shield monitors Raglan and M.28 from Goeben and Breslau.

Reduced to C. & M. Party at Devonport on 15 October, 1919.[11]
