H.M.S. Phoenix was one of 29 destroyers of the Acheron class.

Radio

She was one of 18 Acheron class destroyers fitted with W/T in 1912, becoming one of 123 destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[7]

Service

She was serving with the First Destroyer Flotilla in July, 1913.[8]

In May 1915, Phoenix collided with the trawler Roxdeen [?] while under the command of Lt. Cdr. Michael K. H. Kennedy. Kennedy was placed under arrest on 14 May, pending trial by Court Martial. On 7 July, he was informed by Commander-in-Chief, Home Fleets that he had incurred Their Lordships' "severe displeasure".[9]
