H.M.S. Fame was one of eleven destroyers of the "D" class — one of the two-funnelled "30 knotters".

Service

In July, 1904, complaints from Vice-Admiral Noel of the China Station about the condition of his T.B.s and T.B.D.s prompted a review of his assets by First Lord of the Admiralty Selborne. Within, it was noted that Fame was tender to Humber, her boilers had been re-tubed in 1902, and she'd been docked in May 1904.[8]

In mid-1913, she was serving in China.[9]
