Service

Commissioned at Devonport on 24 October, 1911. In early 1913, she was attached with the Third Battle Squadron, but was ordered to join the Second Light Cruiser Squadron in July.[7]

She recommissioned at Gibraltar in March, 1919.[8]

Alterations

Dartmouth was fitted with a director in February, 1918. This alteration required her pole mast to be replaced with a tripod mast for greater rigidity.[9]
