Richard Charles Montague Pink

Lieutenant-Commander Richard Charles Montague Pink, (30 November, 1888 – 7 March, 1932) served in the Royal Navy and the Royal Naval Air Service.

Life & Career

Born in Winchester, Pink named his mother as his guardian upon joining the navy.[1]

Pink was sent to Mercury to train for submarines.[2]

Pink was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1910.[3]

In August 1914, Pink was appointed to Dolphin for A 5. On 12 October, he was appointed for special service at the Air Department, to work in anti-aircraft.[4]

He was promoted to the rank of Flight Commander on 28 November, 1915.[5]

Pink was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1918.[6]

He was granted a permanent commission as Wing Commander in the R.A.F., dated 1 August, 1919.[7]
