Naval Instructor was a commissioned rank in the Royal Navy. Naval Instructors educated junior officers of the Military Branch at sea and ashore. Naval Instructors of a certain seniority could become Chief Naval Instructors in 1917, and in 1918 the various seniorities were given Military Branch-style ranks.
History
From 1861 Naval Instructors were appointed by commission and not by order as previously.[1]
