Ammiraglio di Divisione Luigi Rizzo, First Count of Grado and Premuda, (1887 – 1951) was an officer in the Regia Marina whose exploits in command of M.A.S. torpedo craft resulted in the sinking of two Austro-Hungarian battleships.
Life & Career
In the early morning of 10 December 1917, Rizzo in command of M.A.S. 9 sank the coast defence battleship Wien at anchor in the Bay of Muggia near Trieste.
On 10 June, 1918 Rizzo repeated his success with M.A.S. 15, sinking the modern Austro-Hungarian battleship S.M.S. Szent István off Premuda in the northern Adriatic.
