Captain (retired) Lewis Dudley Penfold, (13 March, 1872 – 14 May, 1926) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Frederick Penfold, who was in the Paymaster branch.[1]
Penfold was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1893.[2]
Penfold was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1904.[3]
Penfold was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander (retired) on 5 May 1914. He servedf throughout the Great War, at Bermuda at the Chart and Chronometer Depot.[4]
Penfold was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) in recognition of services in the war, dated 11 November, 1918.[5]
