Horace Hallings Tatham
Commander (retired) Horace Hallings Tatham, (1 May, 1882 – 5 April, 1923) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Kensington.
Tatham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 March, 1904.
Suffering from recurrent bronchial issues, Tatham was retired as unfit on 13 December, 1910.
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 March, 1912.
Tatham was first called up in the war for the signal station in Harwich. In November, 1914 he went to work with a Coastal Squadron on the books of President.
The Admiralty appreciated Tatham's help in assisting the torpedoed or mined hospital ship Anaeum Castle on 23 November, 1916 when he removed the sick men and salvaged the vessel.
Tatham was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 1 May, 1922.
