H.M.S. Rival was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

Completed to reduced crew on 5 November, 1920.[5]

She completed a refit at Portsmouth on 17 March, 1923.[6] She completed further repairs on 16 March 1923 and resumed her duties as tender to the artificer's training ship Fisgard.[7]

The ship was paid off into Dockyard Control at Portsmouth on 16 November, 1925.[8]
