H.M.S. Old Colony was a coastal steamer built in Philadelphia in 1907. She was taken up by the U.S. Navy in November 1917[4] as U.S.S. Old Colony and sent across the Atlantic for transfer to the Royal Navy. Conversion to a minelayer was underway but incomplete when the war ended.

Armament

She was to have the capacity of 300 mines, but work was not finished at the end of the war.
