Service
On the night of 1/2 January, 1917, Eridge was involved in a collision with the destroyer Vigilant, whose captain, Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. Robert Geoffrey Cross had a habit of colliding with things. However, the Admiralty primarily blamed Eridge's Lt. Hindmarsh for the collision. He received an expression of severe displeasure, and was to be relieved in command, but it appears that he may have kept at it.[7]
In January, 1921, she was one of thirteen minesweepers lying, paid off at Rosyth.[8]
