H.M.S. Decoy was one of nine Ariel Class composite gunboats completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Devonport on 10 September, 1878.[3]

The ship visited the port of Mahon in Minorca, Spain from 12-15 October, 1883, while under the command of Lt. Henry Charles Bigge.[4]
