Edward John Sanderson
Lieutenant Edward John Sanderson, R.N. (7 December, 1851 – 15 October, 1893) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Sanderson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 17 December, 1873.
Sanderson was appointed in command of the screw sloop Wildfire from 17 April, 1888 until his time expired on 21 April, 1891.
Sanderson was superseded in a post with the Coast Guard at Montrose on 21 October, 1891 and sent to Yarmouth Hospital and placed on the Retired List as unfit for further service the same day. He was discharged to the care of his father on 26 November. His retirement date was later altered to 7 December 1891, and he was to be considered for promotion to Commander on his fortieth birthday.
Sanderson was admitted to Yarmouth Asylum on 17 December 1892 and he died the following year.
