Lieutenant Claude Ernest Vincent Hawkings, (22 July, 1895 – 23 April, 1918) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Percy Hawkings, Esq., who worked at the London Stock Exchange.[1]
Hawkings was appointed to the battleship Orion upon passing out of the Training Establishment on 15 January, 1913. He would see action in her at the Battle of Jutland.[2]
Hawkings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 April, 1917. He was appointed to the Erin on 8 June, 1917.[3]
Hawkings would die during the raid on Zeebrugge, having been in H.M.S. Vindictive.[4]
