H.M.S. Repulse was one of eight Royal Sovereign class battleships completed for the Royal Navy in 1893-94. She was sold in 1911.

Service

The First Cost of the Repulse was £851,474.[8] She was commissioned at Portsmouth on 25 April, 1894, by Captain Burges Watson and the crew of the Rodney for service in the Channel Squadron.[9]

The Repulse was sold for £33,500 in the 1911–1912 financial year after £7,132 worth of gear had been removed.[10]

Equipment and Alterations

In 1899, Repulse acquired her first rangefinder, a 4.5-foot model mounted at the back of the bridge, but lacking any ready means of transmitting its cuts.[11]

As of 1901, while serving as in the Channel Squadron, she was slated to receive a "1 to 52" W/T set.[12]
