Commander (retired) Frederick Richard Harrold (29 April, 1867 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Harrold entered service at the rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1895.[1]

Harrold was working in minesweeping and Boom Defence at Portsmouth from September 1914 to 1 April, 1915 when he was appointed to Magpie for command of H.M.S. Robina. On 16 August, 1915 he was placed in command of Magpie and in charge of the Western Patrol. He worked within this post until poaying off his command on 29 January, 1919.[2]

Harrold was granted the rank of Captain in recognition of his wartime services, dated 11 November 1918.[3]

He reverted to the Retired List on 25 February, 1919.[4]
