Captain Arthur Trevelyan Taylor, C.B.E., Royal Navy (8 August, 1864 – 16 June, 1956) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

At the examination for Naval Cadetships, Taylor placed joint twenty-fourth out of the successful batch of forty-six candidates.[1]

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 21 June, 1887.

On 4 July, 1888, he was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 41 for manoeuvres.[2]

An appointment in command of the gunboat Plover dated 19 July, 1898 was cancelled and he was instead placed in the torpedo gunboat Hebe.

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1900.[3]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Hood on 14 July, 1910.

He was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 1 September, 1910.
