Commander Algernon Edmund Penrice Lyons, D.S.O., R.N. (17 August, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy. His proper name may have been Algernon Edmund Penrice-Lyons or even Algernon Edmund Penrice Penrice-Lyons

Life & Career

Lyons was born in Swansea, the son of Sir A. M. L. Lyons, A.C.B..[1]

After some service in large ships, Lyons served as a Sub-Lieutenant in a series of destroyers from May 1907 to January, 1909: Peterel, Flirt, Vixen, Kennet, Blackwater, Kennet again, and Ouse, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1908.[2]

Lyons was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1916.[3]

Lyons was appointed in command of the destroyer Wakeful on 19 July, 1918.[4]

Lyons was promoted to the rank of Commander on 17 August, 1926.[5]
