H.M.S. Shropshire was one of four London Class cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Shropshire was commissioned at Chatham on 24 September, 1929. By mid-1931, she was serving with the First Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean,[7] where she remained until at least mid 1937,[8] re-commissioning at Chatham on 5 April, 1932.[9]
She re-commissioned at Chatham on 29 November, 1934 for service with the First Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean.[10]
