H.M.S. Garry was one of 36 destroyers of the "River" class.
Service
Waveney collided with Garry on 26 July, 1907.
In April, 1908, she was one of ten Rivers expected to arrive at Portsmouth in order to have H.M.S. Vernon install wireless telegraphy equipment in them.[8]
On 1 July 1913, she left Malta for Corfu with eight other destroyers under the lead of the torpedo gunboat Hussar.[9] On 4 July, the destroyers left Corfu for Platea, sans Hussar.[10]
In mid-1913, she was in the Mediterranean.[11]
On 23 November, 1914, under the command of Commander Wilson, Garry rammed U 18 off Scapa Flow in the Pentland Firth, obligating the submarine's crew to later scuttle her. Garry rescued all but one of the enemy submariners.[12]
On 19 July, 1918, Garry was among several ships that sank UB 110 in the North Sea.[Fact Check]
By May 1919, Garry was among 33 obsolete ships awaiting sale.[13]
