H.M.S. Fowey was one of eight Shoreham Class sloops completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Fowey was launched in a private ceremony on 4 November 1930. The wife of Colonel E. Treffry of Place, Fowey, performed the naming ceremony.[4]
Fowey was re-commissioned at Colombo on 16 July, 1932.[5]
Re-commissioned on 1 November 1934 for service in the Persian Gulf.[6]
Re-commissioned on 17 November, 1936.[7]
