H.M.S. Earnest was one of twenty-four "B" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".
Service
On 14 January 1907, she and seven other "River" and "30 knotter" T.B.D.s. of the Second Destroyer Flotilla arrived in Portsmouth from Sheerness.[8]
In mid-1913, she was serving in the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla.[9]
