Albert Edward Acheson

Captain (retired) Albert Edward Acheson, C.B.E. (2 May, 1862 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Acheson was granted the probationary rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1895 and was confirmed in the rank on 7 June, 1897. He would suffer apoplexy some time around 1898.

Acheson was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 2 May, 1907, seemingly at the rank of Commander. In April and May 1910, he brushed up in torpedoes and gunnery at Vernon and Excellent.

He was called up on 1 August, 1914 and fulfilled a variety of Transport Officer duties during the war in the rank of retired Commander.

Acheson reverted to the Retired List on 22 August, 1919 and was promoted to Captain (retired) in recognition of his wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.
