Frederick Anstruther Herbert

Admiral Frederick Anstruther Herbert, Royal Navy, Retired (6 April, 1827 – 24 December, 1911) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Promoted Captain on 1 January, 1877, Rear-Admiral on 14 February, 1880.

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, Herbert was placed on the Retired List, dated 6 April, 1887.[1] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List dated 24 May,[2] and was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List dated 5 April, 1892.[3]
