On 22 April, 1861, the strength of the Dockyard Divisions was authorised by the Home Secretary as:[1]

NAME OF DIVISION. STRENGTH. DIVISION FORMED.
Superintendents. Inspectors. Sergeants. Police Constables. All other ranks.
