The four "W" Class Submarines, coastal submarines built by Armstrong and, like the "S" class boats, given to Italy in the summer of 1915.

History

The subs were double-hulled boats of the Laubeuf type, with Schneider-Laubeuf engines.

  • two 18-in tubes forward, two torpedoes
  • four 18-in drop-collars

W 3 and W 4:

  • two 18-in tubes forward, four torpedoes

Guns

W 3 and W4:

  • one 3-in H.A. gun
