Admiral Herbert Charles Campbell Da Costa, Royal Navy, Retired (18 April, 1865 – 29 December, 1940) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Da Costa was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1899.[1]

Captain

Da Costa was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1905.[2]

Da Costa was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 14 June, 1916, and, in accordance with the provisions of the Order-in-Council of 8 December, 1903, was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 15 June.[3]

On 1 April, 1917 Da Costa was appointed a Temporary Captain in the Royal Naval Reserve.[4]

Da Costa was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 25 November, 1920,[5] and to Admiral on 24 November, 1925.[6]
