Lieutenant John Stuart Binny Scott, R.N. (1 February, 1888 – 18 October, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Wilson Grove, Southsea. Scott entered the training ship Britannia in May, 1903. He emerged a Midshipman and was appointed to the battleship Magnificent on 15 September, 1904. He remained in her through 5 November, 1906.[1]

Scott was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 November, 1907.[2]

Scott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1910. In November, 1912 he was sent to Dolphin for instruction in submarines. He completed this on 3 March 1913 and was sent to the submarine tender Forth to serve in submarines.[3]

Scott was lost in E 3 in October 1914 when she was sunk by U 27 off the German coast.[4]
