Lieutenant-Commander Rupert Richard Devlin, (30 October, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Devlin was promoted to the rank of Mate on 16 October, 1914. He would go far, for men starting from such a rank.

Devlin served in Matchless and as second-in-command of Fawn from February 1915 before being in the same position in P11 from January, 1916.[1]

Devlin was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal for a feat of lifesaving at sea on 20 May 1916 while appointed to P11.

Devlin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1917, adjusted to 15 February, 1917.

Devlin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1925.
