Commander David Edward Gillespie Wemyss, D.S.C.* (21 February, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Upon passing out of the Training Establishment on 20 January, 1916 he was appointed to the battleship Valiant. He served in her at the Battle of Jutland and only left on 27 February, 1919 when he was appointed to H.M.S. Dolphin for a submarine course.

Wemyss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1920.

Wemyss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1928.

World War II

Wemyss was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1944.

Placed on the Retired List on account of age on 21 February, 1950.
