Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. Charles Harold Daniel, D.S.C., R.N.R. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

On 17 February 1916 he was appointed to Pekin for instruction in paddle minesweeping, and given the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R.. On 19 April he was appointed to Fair Maid, having been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 23 March, 1916.[1]

In August 1916 he was appointed to take command of H.M.S. Duchess of Kent upon her commissioning. On 17 November, he was appointed in command of the paddle steamer Glen Avon. He remained with her until being appointed to command Caledonia and to command a flotilla of Paddle Minesweepers on 13 September, 1917.[2]

He was demobilised on 23 December, 1919.[3]
