Captain (retired) Lionel George Spiridione Hancock (22 October, 1859 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Entered the Navy on 15 January, 1873 and passed the Royal Naval College in August, 1880 with a third class certificate.[1]

Hancock was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1883.[2]

On 21 July, 1898 Hancock grounded H.M.S. Onyx, eliciting a plea from the Admiralty that he may be more careful in September.[3]

Appointed in command of the yacht Imogene on 19 November, 1899, Hancock assumed command on 4 March, 1900.[4]
