Jump to navigationJump to searchLieutenant John Maurice Haig Fisher, R.N. (21 December, 1891 – 1 November, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Major J. Fisher, 2nd P. W. O. Ghurkas.
Fisher was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 30 September, 1911.
Fisher's modest passion for his duty repeatedly failed to impress Captain Arthur Noel Loxley during an appointment to the Inflexible.
Nonetheless, Fisher was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1913.
Fisher was appointed to the armoured cruiser Good Hope for the Test Mobilisation, and died in her when she was lost in the Battle of Coronel on 1 November, 1914.
